"A lot of people don't know what freedom means. I do."

Every time I hear the Bush=Hitler comparison it makes me want to choke the idiot who is making it. Every one on the loony left should be forced to endure what Jan Cydzik had to live through. Only then will they truly understand how warped their world view has become. It might also help to remove those wonderfully romantic notions they might harbor about the communist paradise that was the former Soviet Union.
His story is here The Grand Rapids Press

To steal a line from Andrew Sullivan the money quote is “I feel great," Jan said. "I love this country. I love this country more than anything else in the world. I do what I want to do. I go where I want to go. I have a dollar in my pocket and a smile on my face, and nobody stand behind me and say it's his.”

Read the whole thing. Thanks to the fine folks over at Stg Stryker for this link.

So, out of curiosity, do you also want to choke Rush Limbaugh every time he calls the junior senator from NY "Hitlery"?

I am not a big fan of talk radio and I haven't heard Rush in quite some time. But if he does use that line I would say, yes, I would choke him as well. Equating an unpopular political figure with the evil that was the Third Reich is just wrong in my book. Right, left or center it doesn't matter.

Good to hear. Nazi comparisons are all too common in political discourse these days and all of them should be criticized equally (unless, of course, you're drawing a careful historical analogy, in which case you better be pretty damn precise in what you're arguing and have something solid to back it up).

I agree and I don't see how making that type of comparison can add anything to the debate.
