Daniel has a thoughtful post on what has shaped the political beliefs of his age group.
***Addendum: I am not a political blogger--although I do throw out my two cents on current events on occasion--so this should interest no one, but I will not be supporting Daniel's candidate in the upcoming election. After "coming out" as a Democrat, I noticed a handful of conservative bloggers de-linked me. I just want to make sure those of you who need to label people know how to label me.
Posted by Jennifer at March 5, 2004 12:13 PMDemocrat? Eh. Whatever. As long as you keep prancing around in the catsuit, you can be a crypto-commie-anarchist for all I care.
I come here because I like reading what you write. The rest is irrelevant.
Posted by: Harvey at March 5, 2004 12:32 PMHmmmm... I always wonder about those who refuse to associate with people who don't agree with their politics.
Too bad they chose to de-link you. They're missing out on some good stuff!
Posted by: Jack at March 5, 2004 12:45 PMWho de-linked you?????? They'll be first up against the wall when Munuvia takes over the blogosphere!! Muhahahaha......
(Sorry, been wanting to say that for a long time, and this seemed like as good a reason as any...;)
Posted by: Susie at March 5, 2004 01:13 PMHmm, where have I heard that "up against the wall" thing before? ;-)
I'm not naming names. Just letting people know in the interests of full disclosure.
Posted by: Jennifer at March 5, 2004 01:27 PMI'm a recovering Democrat, myself. Clinton put me on the bandwagon. :(
Posted by: Jim at March 5, 2004 02:02 PMHow very interesting.
You see, I’m the old fart ‘round these parts’. I’m in my late 40’s, the father of two semi-grown and exceptional children, one not so grown teenager and married to the same wonderful woman for 26 years. I have something to say on this subject that is much longer than poor Jen’s comment section will allow, much less what her loyal readers will tolerate.
I will forewarn visitors that the ‘post’ will be of short Whittle length, but please, humor me and visit. I promise I’ll not preach but I will honestly bare my soul on the above subject, simply because I believe in its absolute relevance.
That being said, Bob will construct his thoughts over the next couple of days and post the results. Stop by if you can.
You mean you're not an anarchist? I am shocked, SHOCKED!!
Posted by: Pete at March 5, 2004 07:39 PMI will say this: I readily admit to being a conservative and registered rich Republican. If folks are de-linking Jen for "coming out" as a Democrat, she just moved up two notches on my blogroll.
Posted by: Bob Whaley at March 6, 2004 09:38 AMAs a man who served 3 tours in Vietnam, and who married a Vietnamese lady and had four childen by her and have an orphanage named in my honor in Ho Chi Minh City, Kerry is a total phony.
He sold out the GI's in Vietnam with Jane Fonda, he sold out the POW's to get his cousin a favorable deal in Vietnam, and he wants to sell our country to the Islamists.
That being said, I still check your blog every day. Hearing the views on only those with whom you agree leads to mental monochromatism.
Drive on mad woman!
Posted by: Mike Strickland at March 6, 2004 01:39 PMYou came out as a Democrat? Why? For God's sake.
