About Me

I've had a small handful of requests from new readers to have an "About Me" link...and I have already done posts of that nature, but they're not really what I wanted to link to permanently. So here is a brand-new "About Me" post that I'll throw up on the sidebar.

This is general information. Subject to change.

1. JenLars is short for Jennifer Larson.
2. I live in an undisclosed hamlet in Iowa.
3. Near Des Moines.
4. Seriously. I work in Des Moines.
5. I am not a history teacher, although I played one in college.
6. Which was the University of Iowa.
7. Go Hawks!
8. I have never been married.
9. Nor pregnant.
10. I'd like to be both at some point.
11. At the same time.
12. And in the appropriate order.
13. I'm in no hurry, but...
14. I'm 30 years old.
15. So my mom is.
16. If I do get married, I'd like to elope.
17. Weddings are a pain in the ass.
18. I did all the decorations for my brother's wedding.
19. My former sister-in-law never thanked me.
20. She told everyone else it was beautiful, though. So I guess she liked it.
21. I don't want a funeral, either.
22. But you guys can do what you want. I won't care.
23. It's more for you anyway.
24. I like all kinds of music, from classical to heavy metal.
25. I like to think I look funny listening to Rob Zombie in my preppy sedan.
26. He's a nice guy, by the way.
27. I was born in Superior, Wisconsin.
28. I am the oldest child.
29. I have a brother and a sister.
30. I have a niece and a nephew.
31. I have 8 uncles and 3 aunts related to me by blood.
32. So I have a LOT of cousins.
33. On the Larson side, I am the 12th of 25 grandchildren.
34. The other side is a little harder to figure. We're not what you'd call "close."
35. But I see most of the Larsons every year.
36. I'm not religious.
37. I was brought up Presbyterian.
38. When my family moved from one town to another, we stopped going to church.
39. I was 11.
40. Even when I was quite young I had misgivings about Christianity.
41. But our pastor was terrific--he always included lessons about diversity.
42. Our town was extremely white at the time.
43. When we moved there, they had only just been forced to get rid of the signs warning blacks not to come into town after dark.
44. Except they didn't use the word "blacks."
45. I wonder if I developed a contrary personality before or after that.
46. I have brown eyes.
47. I'm brunette...long hair at the moment.
48. 5'6". Or to be completely accurate: 5'5 3/4".
49. Registered Democrat.
50. Supporter of the war on terror.
51. But not the Patriot Act.
52. I hate putting my hand in bags of chips. I pour the chips into a bowl to eat them. If it's a small vending-size bag, I open it so it lies down flat if I have no bowl handy.

That's enough for now.

You forgot the bit about enjoying spankings...

Incidentally, it was not Rodrigo who inspired this. It's something I've been meaning to do for months.

I'm pretty sure that was a junior spammer anyway.

Can we get some measurements? Vital stats?

Please accentuate your hotness factor...some of us have to live vicariously.

At least tell us blond/brunette/red-head, eye color, and height (for fantasy scripting purposes). If you resemble someone famous, that would be good to mention, too.

Cat suit size optional.

Oh, and definitely elope. Beloved Wife & I went to Jamaica & got a free wedding with our stay at the resort. Beat the hell out of wasting all those months worrying & planning.

Brunette with long hair... wow... my favorite!!! AND intelligent and a lover of history. I'm in love.

D'OH!!!! I'm a decade older than you...

sigh...

Hey, I'm not too old.

But alas , I no longer live in Iowa.

All my dreams, shattered so quickly.

Hey,
Did you ever do any theatre in Cedar Rapids?

With the 52 points of light you share,
I've seen a glimer of your soul.
Thank you for painting a self-portrait,
with bits so unique and rare.
You understand that you come from a family,
and their conflicts resolved.
While you are a unique individual,
that a picture can't do justice but only be vague.
-hoping I understand
