I hope you all have a very safe and happy new year.
I looked to see what I posted last year, and am reminded that tomorrow will be my 18-month blogiversary. I accept cash or gifts.
:-)
Now I'm off to get some Chinese food. C.ya
*Update: Mmm, Mongolian Beef.
Talking to a Real World person, I was asked why I didn't post my true New Year feelings. So, by request...adult language in the extended.
Fuck you, 2004. You suck and I'm glad to see you go. Tonight I shall drink to your death.
Before I met you, I was an innocent. I believed hard work and conscientiousness would bring job security. You proved me wrong, 2004. You showed me that I could be fired on a whim; that job performance was inconsequential to petty, little people with tiny penises.
But at least I'm not bitter.
Posted by Jennifer at December 31, 2004 11:26 AMhappy new year, jennifer. i'm sure 2005 will be better for you. 2003 was my worst year ever, and look at what 2004 brought me. so here's to 2005 for JenLars.
Posted by: sarahk at December 31, 2004 04:42 PMYep, that's a shitty lesson to learn. I learned it long ago, and I still am not happy about it at times, although I've been able to make use of it.
2004 is ending on a note that may be sadly appropriate for the year, and may be providing a fitting coda for the 20th century, where nature is proving that it can kill thousands with no one to blame, no one to retaliate against, and force us to look directly into the abyss.
Jennifer, I wish you a safe, sane, and successful 2005!
Posted by: Jack at December 31, 2004 06:13 PMJackie, you're depressing me.
Posted by: Jennifer at January 1, 2005 02:00 AMBeen there, done that. I'd just as soon forget 2002, myself. Lost my job a week after 9/11, and lacked anything permanent for 16 months. Break a leg on the job search! (Hmmn, maybe not the best choice of luck-wishes given the pain post...)
