Here's one for you. This morning I was listenting to NPR on the way to work. SHUT UP! My only alternative is perky morning DJs. Anyway, the tidbit that irritated me the most today was part of a blurb on fibroids. The particular sentence was something about the percentage of women over 39 who have fibroids and that "one out of every two black women have fibroids".

That is just plain incorrect and the wording really pissed me off. Assuming that statistically speaking 50% of black women have fibroids, if you get two random black women in the same room there is only a probability that one of them will have fibroids and that probability isn't a whole lot over 50%.

So my question is, how many black women do you need before you can statistically assume that half of them have fibroids?

What the fuck is a fibroid? And how come only black chicks get them? Is it part of reparations or something? I thought they decided not to do that. Em-effing confused yo.

It's not just black women. I heard the irritation again this morning. It's "one out of every three women aged 30 or over and one out of every two black women". So I guess it's one out of every six non-black women over 30?

This is really irritating me.
