I don't watch a lot of TV, but every time I click onto CNN, there is a "Breaking News" graphic at the bottom of the screen, and some mundane update on that blonde girl who went missing on that island (I'm being purposely vague here to avoid Googlers).
I do not give half a crap about the case. I never have, and I never will. It's sad for her family, BUT there are plenty of sad stories happening every day without ridiculous amounts of news coverage.
Some suspect's shoes being seized is not breaking news. It's not headline-worthy on the front page of your website. Frankly, it's just silly...and maybe even embarassing...that a "respected" national news source would be so preoccupied with a story of NO national importance.
So, when I click onto CNN and see the "Breaking News" isn't much news at all, I just keep on clicking.

I was unsure if it was supposed to add something to the story, or if we were still trying to decide if she's hot or not.
