Trying New Things

I did something today I've never done before...I bought myself Ramen Noodles.

They're 12 for $1.44, so you can't hardly beat that with a stick.

Can't wait to try 'em. (/sarcasm)

***UPDATE: Momofuku. Heh.

Ramen noodles unfortunately are not very good for you. Each package contains about 1560 mg of sodium. To remove the water and form them into blocks, they are deep fried in palm oil which is about the most saturated fat there is.

Explains part of the Freshman Fifteen.

Get it to boiling, and crack an egg (or two) into it, and some fresh, cut up chives if you have them, any onion if you don't. I eat that stuff on purpose and love it.

Dores lives on those noodles as well. she usually throws in some hot sauce and turkey.

There's actually a website somewhere that offers the bajillion different ways to cook the noodles. The sodium can be considerably if not totally dropped from the dish by opting out of the flavor packet (which is mostly salt) and instead tossing a little garlic, ginger, sage, pepper and boullion into the mix. I also like to add some frozen veggies in as well for a little you know, nutritional value
