As I've Mentioned Before...
I want to elope.
This is why. I know myself well enough to know that the nice little fantasy of two families becoming one and birdies singing and all of that does not measure up to the basket case I would become.
Vegas, baby. Vegas.

The dad, knowing he would have to shell out over the years for weddings, had a policy: If you get married, he'd donate $10,000 to fund the wedding; if you eloped, he would write you a $5,000 check. I found the offer tempting on more than one occasion while we were dating, but in the end it came down to the fact that 5 g's just wasn't enough.

We're just as married as everyone else, and we didn't have to worry about planning for or pleasing anyone except ourselves.
VERY low stress.
