Thanks for the trip down memory lane. It's amazing how much comes back from reading these posts. Whether or not it's a good thing remains to be seen though.

Some truly putrid music on that list.

"we had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun..."

I remember a different version of that sone that combined it with the streak. "We had joy, we had fun we had streaking in the sun..."

As I was reading the list, I swear I could "hear" each song...it was like a mental K-Tel commercial!

Thanks for the flashbacks, Jen.

Ted, I liked that song!

Now I've got Bo Donaldson going thru my head...

I don't doubt that for a minute Victor. :)

"twang twang twang twaaaaangggggggg"

Unfortunately I distinctly remember listening to the "Top 100 Countdown" on New Year's Eve 1974 and hoping fervently that Babs and Terry Jacks wouldn't get the top spots.

Boy does that bring back memories! I really got into music in 73/74 (age 12-13) stuff from then is special to me and seems like just yesterday.

I happened to love Seasons In The Sun, but there is some truly bizarre stuff that came out then.

I'm surprised where some of it falls. A lot of higher numbered songs get plenty of airplay as oldies or classic hits, and a lot of the lower numbered songs are lost.

Incidentally, why 1974? I mean, these posts are cool, but is it the year of choice because you were born then or what? You probably explained it at some point and I wasn't reading then.

I was born in September, 1974...so that's why I've been posting 1974 tidbits all month. Today is the last day.
