Who's the Best Pilot You Ever Saw?

Goodbye, Gordon Cooper.

"Leroy Gordon Cooper, one of the nation's first astronauts who once set a space endurance record by traveling more than 3.3 million miles aboard Gemini 5 in 1965, died on Monday, NASA said. He was 77."

Greatest pilot ever? I'll have to go with ol' Chuck Yeager.

But, Gordo's on a par with Glenn, Slayton and that guy that safely landed a burning airliner some 25, or so, years ago.

So long, Gordon Cooper. Ya kicked Ferdi Magellan's ass!

He went farther, faster, and higher than anyone before him, and for a brief while, he was the best pilot anyone ever saw...

Sigh...

The best pilot i ever saw is a guy who owns his own 135 business @KPWK and routinely gets his butt kicked flying down low in a BE-55 with no boots. I learned more there than any of the other 135 and then 121 carriers i moved on to work for.
