*VP Stuff

Official JenLars reaction to the debate: Yay! Yankees Lost! Happy Day!

I didn't watch a single minute. Not even a second of it. I didn't vote for Al Gore in 1992 or 1996. I didn't vote against...hmm, it'd be Dan Quayle in 1992 and some other guy in 1996. Bob Dole's running mate...umm, hmm...Jack Kemp?

Anyway, the point is--unless the VP candidate is David Duke or some complete maroon, I don't care. I won't be voting for either John Edwards or Dick Cheney. I'll be voting for John Kerry or George W. Bush.

(P.S. Wouldn't it be fun if they still had the second-place presidential candidate win the VP spot? Whoo-boy!)

(P.P.S. Yankees lost! Bwah-ha-ha-ha!)

Actually, as first written before being amended the Constitution did have the second place candidate win the VP spot. That's how Thomas Jefferson ended up being John Adams' Vice President. It didn't work out very well, which is why they changed it...

But you already knew that, didn't you?

I would be interested in the VP candidate simply because of the Reagan factor. An attempt was made on his life, and it was during a time of relative peace. Stockdale is why Perot didn't do better, IMHO, and with the war on terror waning in popularity, it would frighten me to think of the possibility of someone ill qualified to run this country in the event of the president becoming incapacitated. Sidebar: I think both Cheney and Edwards came off well last night...

Jack--I did know that. Which is why I used the word "still". ;-)

And Todd, I think I covered that by saying that "unless the VP candidate is David Duke or some complete maroon". Neither Cheney nor Edwards is bad enough to affect my vote.
