*Random Thought

If the South had succeeded in seceding, would I have to go to a foreign country to see a NASCAR race?

You already do, as far as I'm concerned...

No. NASCAR, if it would have come into existence, would have only succedded in the north, as the south had a much more agrarian economy. A strong economy, but without heavy industry. Thus not as much of an emphasis on industrial design, heavy machinery (outside of combines and the like), or combustion engines. but I guess that's all hypothetical anyways.

And for all the haters, NASCAR races are held in NH, LVNV, CA, and many other places outside the south. Just admit it, deep down you're all a little redneck. Yeah, I seen you down yonder; hangin' out at the five and dime, spittin' tabacky with those rowdy crackers you run with. Boy, you're deddy never took to switchin' you as much's he shoulda.

Yes, but NASCAR developed out of the rum-runners in the South. I assume Detroit would have exported cars to the rebels, regardless.

Yes.

Jennifer's right. Though the south isn't a very industrial region, international trade would have sent them a few cars, ferchrisakes. So, Victor's right.

But since it evolved from rum runners, would the South have banned alcohol? Interestingly when I was in NH this year the NASCAR had an event in Concord. Ultimatly though NASCAR is just round and round in circles, and no patch on F1

More importantly had the south succeeded, would NM, Texas et al still be in Mexico and would Spain still rule California? And would Florida be another country altogether?

Would Canada have invaded the North? Would Russia have sold Alaska to the US?
