10/6 Lyrical Pursuit

Happy Monday, folks! I hope everybody had a great weekend, that you're having an easier time finding gas than I am, and that you didn't cut yourself shaving. It's the little things.

Ready for some lyricish pursuitage?

(Da Rules)

When you move like a jellyfish
Rhythm don't mean nothing
You go with the flow
You don't stop

Bonus points: Name one of the films this artist directed (multiple points available).

Cheaters totally suck.

Jack Johnson, I think the song's called Bubble Toes or something?

I have no idea what movie it would be, probably some surf flick. Step Into Liquid? Riding Giants?

Hot damn! shank nailed it for full points. Artist is Jack Johnson and the song is "Bubble Toes". I thought this one would go longer. Seeing as it wrapped up so fast I'll put another one up in a bit.

That's the right track for the films - surfer documentaries. Jack directed, acted in and provided some of the soundtrack for them.

I bought this CD when I was in college, and it still gets heavy rotation. Don't have any of his newer ones though.

I had never heard of him until Bonnaroo this year. He had a great performance. Dude takes humble to new levels too. His music is my favorite long road trip sound.

Definitely check out his cover of Lennon's "Imagine". He nailed it - kept the spirit but put his own touch into it.

I am not a hippie. I'm a festie. That's like a part time hippie who's allowed to bathe.
