*I'll Give You a Topic...

Are girls and boys raised to look at work differently? Are girls encouraged to look for "fulfilling" work regardless of monetary considerations? Are boys encouraged to consider having to support a family financially?

I suspect they probably are. I try not to. I've never really gotten into that whole question with my girls because they're not really thinking seriously about what they want to be when they grow up in any serious way, but my advice to them would probably be no different than the advice I received--find a profession where you can make enough money to live the lifestyle you want to live. Fulfillment is nice, but it pales in the Maslov hierarchy compared to three hots and a cot indoors.

I think that was very prevalent in my generation. For my boys' generation, not so much.
